Q: What are the signs and symptoms of Diabetes?
Who Knows whats wrong with me, i don’t know enough about diabetes to know if i have any possibility of having it. i just need to know about the symptoms, i’m not looking for someone to diagnose me.

A: they say that you’ll feel thirsty all day, dry mouth.. you also urinate really a lot.. if you get cut/wounds, it’ll take longer time to heal..

Q: What are some symptoms of Diabetes?
I’ve noticed that I’ve been shaky like I’ve had too much sugar. I feel light headed. And my stomach hurts a lot!
My Grandma has diabetes and these are some of the symptoms she had, before she was diagnosed with it.
If it’s not diabetes, then what could I have?

A: Given your family history you need to be screened at least once a year. Please go see your doctor and get the needed blood tests.

Q: What are symptoms of diabetes/low iron or low blood sugar?
My daughter is 2 yrs old and has been shaking uncontrollably at daycare upon waking up from her afternoon nap. She eats healthy and the daycare checks for fever each time this happens. She is not cold either..there is no goosebumps. I don’t know her fathers side of medical history and i’m just concerned this could be something more serious like signs of epilepsy or diabetes..anyone else have this occuring with there children?

A: I will say you to take her to doctor at soonest convenience. She could be having hypoglycemia

Q: What are symptoms of diabetes in dogs?
other than drinking a lot? should i be concerned how much she’s drinking? we’re talking like gallons a day. i know about diabetes in people but not animals. what are some other signs? And yes, I already plan to have her tested.
She’s also taking antibiotics right now. But she’s been this way longer than taking the meds. Are the meds making it worse?

A: Excessive urination

Problems with coordination

Blindness

Incontinence

The symptoms are very similar to those in humans.

I know that you said that you plan to have her tested, so good for you. The sooner, the better. Her kidneys can shut down if you let it go for too long.

Q: Info on diabetes, and what are the symptoms?
Does anybody know symptoms of diabetes, I checked the internet, but the answers there seems so vague. I have not been feeling right for quite some time now. Dizziness, weird tingling in my body etc. I know, that my blood sugar is not right. I just want to check with people who know out of experience what diabetes is about.

A: If you know that your blood sugars are not right then you need to see a doctor who can take a medical history and run more accurate tests. I am assuming you have tested your glucose levels on a friends/family glucose monitor? but a number of things can cause an odd result and diabetes can not be diagnosed from a test from these machines
Diabetes is quite easy to manage now a days and you are able to live a near normal life. But other things may cause problems with blood glucose levels. See a doctor and get the correct diagnosis as from what you have said it is impossible to say for sure what if anything is wrong with you.
Main symptoms are

Frequent abnormal thirst
frequent urination
other symptoms
tiredness
blurry vision
frequent infections
bad temper
tingling exteremities

Q: If I have symptoms of diabetes does that mean I have it?
Ok, I know my symptoms could be symptoms of anything else but if it is because of diabetes can the doctor give me treatment before I really have it? I have an appointment next Saturday because thats the only closest spot avalaible. But I want someone to tell me a lil info about diabetes.. I am scared = help please. thanks a lot.

A: You can only really tell by blood tests. A glucose test for what’s going on right now; and a A1C test to see a four month average of you glucose level. The doctor will explain.

Q: is one of the symptoms of diabetes swollen red tender toes and itchy dry skin?
I want to know if this is a symptom,so I know if its important or not.

Q: I am having some of the common symptoms of diabetes & wanted some advice?
I am 14, and i’m extremly athletic. I am not over weight, i’m the normal size for my age. But there has been a history of adulthood diabeties in my family. Lately I’ve been very thirsty all the time, which has lead to more frequent bathroom trips. Also I’ve had stomach problems & frequent nausia. My fingers don’t really tingle and I haven’t had any of the other symptoms. Thank you for your help it’s greatly appreciated.

A: These sound like some of the signs of untreated T1 diabetes to me. Want to know for sure? Ask one of your diabetic relatives to take your blood glucose reading. It’s easy, and you’ll have the results in 5 seconds.

Can’t find anyone to test you? Go see a doctor. The tests are simple and they should be able to tell you immediately.

T1 diabetes is serious enough that it’s better to have it checked out and be wrong than let it go if you really have it.

Q: Do symptoms of Diabetes occur over time or suddenly?
Symptoms such as constant urge to pee, extreme thirst etc. … will you notice them continuously over a long period of time or can suddenly developing one of the symptoms mean diabetes?

A: type 2 builds up over time. if its not genetic it has been most likely (but not always) lifestyle related
type 1 builds up faster….but not in the way of nothing yesterday but got it today. maybe over a few weeks

also in the mean time while you are thinking that it might be diabetes it gives you a chance to let it go for a bit and see what the change is so you dont go into panic mode

Q: Can you have symptoms of diabetes without having diabetes?
Can I have probs with blood sugar without having diabetes?
And can i just change it with diet?

A: yes you can…there is a number of diseases that you could have if you have high/low blood sugar that are not diabetes. you could have hypoglycemia if you have real low blood sugar. otherwise just look up ’causes of high/low blood sugar’
on google…or ask your doctor even better.
hope i could help [:

Q: Can you have alot of the symptoms of diabetes and not have diabetes ?
For example someone who has PCOS has a hormonal imbalance, a blood sugar imbalance and can manifest as type 2 diabetes, but all the blood work is normal, the fasting glucose and the HbA1c is normal, so is it possible it’s just similar to diabetes but it isn’t ?
kyukyu99 that’s the exact answer I was hoping to hear.
So does that mean that your HbA1C turned out to be high and then that’s when you were diagnosed with type 2 ?

A: PCOS does manifest as type II diabetes symptoms. I have both, but I was diagnosed with PCOS first, and was treated for that with mediation used to treat type II diabetes. Because of my weight and some other mediations I take, I did eventually come down with Type II diabetes, but I am taking the same medication to treat that as I was to treat my PCOS alone.

So yes, you can be PCOS, have the symptoms of type II diabetes, and yet not be diabetic. As long as your HbA1c is normal, you are ok!

Q: Does anyone know the symptoms of diabetes in dogs?
I have a 15 year old Beagle who has stopped eating today, I made him chicken and he only ate 4-5 pieces. All he seems to do is hang around his water bowl, he’s restless to, and losing weight.
Is there any holistic way to treat him?

A: Signs of canine diabetes are dogs that urinate more frequently than normal and also appear to have an insatiable thirst. Both of these symptoms are caused by the dogs kidneys attempting to excrete the extra glucose through urine, and pulling water from the blood stream to do so. This causes dehydration and the insatiable thirst. They may lose weight constantly, as their body is opting to take energy from fats and proteins instead of from the glucose. Weakness, depression, and anxiety may result if the dog gets to the point where it is taking too much energy from fats and proteins. Some dogs also develop cataracts on the eyes very quickly and suddenly. Vomiting can be a common symptom as well. Some dogs also exhibit rapid breathing with odd smelling breath. Smelling the breath and noticing an acetone smell is also a tell-tale sign of canine diabetes. You can have a veterinarian verify the diagnosis by performing a blood test.

Q: What are the most common symptoms of diabetes and how do I recognize them?
(Type 1 and Type 2)

A: Diabetes Symptoms

Diabetes often goes undiagnosed because many of its symptoms seem so harmless. Recent studies indicate that the early detection of diabetes symptoms and treatment can decrease the chance of developing the complications of diabetes.

Some diabetes symptoms include:

Frequent urination
Excessive thirst
Extreme hunger
Unusual weight loss
Increased fatigue
Irritability
Blurry vision
If you have one or more of these diabetes symptoms, see your doctor right away. You can also take our Online Diabetes Risk Test to find out if you are at risk for diabetes.

Q: Why are one of the symptoms of diabetes excessive hunger? What causes that?
Does it have something to do with trying to make up what the body is lacking when you lose glucose in urine output?

A: usually with type 1 diabetes your body isnt producing enough insulin (which delivers glucose to all the necessary parts of the body for energy) so there is glucose buildup in your system yet your body still isnt getting the fuel it needs…thus you become hungry. hope i could help!
